Livermore Middle Schoolers to Participate in Annual Math Tournament

MathCounts is hosted by the school district.

MathCounts is a math tournament for middle school students in Livermore. This annual event, hosted by the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD), draws more than 100 middle school students attending public schools in Livermore. This event is open to the public.

The mission of MathCounts is to increase enthusiasm for and enhance achievement in middle school mathematics throughout the United States. The program provides middle school students with the foundation for success in science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers.

For more information about the nation-wide program, go to www.mathcounts.org. LVJUSD middle school students are coached at their respective schools weekly by scientists and mathematician volunteers.
