Livermore Police To Conduct DUI Checkpoint

LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore police are conducting a DUI Checkpoint from 6 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday at an undisclosed location, the Livermore Police Department said.

Police are conducting the operation to stop anyone impaired from alcohol, drugs, or prescription medications. Drivers with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, a suspended license, and possible jail time.

“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Officer Kurt Cofer said. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety,” LPD Officer Kurt Cofer said in a statement.
