WATCH: Livermore Police K9 May Be More Bark Than Bite

Don't let this pup's size (or the video) fool you.

LIVERMORE, CA: Livermore Police recently announced the addition of an “untraditional” canine to the department's K9 program. According to an April 1 post on the Livermore Police Facebook page, due to her size and deceptively adorable look, the new dog is perfectly suited for undercover work as well as the standard police dog duties.

“That's the benefit of having a dog like this,” Officer Ryan Sanchez says in the video, touting Mocha’s many unique talents, which includes hiding in plain sight. "Being able to walk down in plain clothes and just treating it as a ruse. People just pet the dog and the dog did its work and didn't alert on anything but was able to search those people without anyone even knowing."

While the dog clearly eschews traditional apprehension techniques used by most canines, Mocha’s well-honed skill of executing the perfect “tactical roll” will likely lure any suspect right to her for a good belly scratch.

Look for Mocha in her tiny green uniform coat patrolling the streets of Livermore.
