On September 4, 2015, the City of Livermore issued Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for a new hotel and residential mixed-use project in downtown Livermore. The RFPs are for City-owned sites to the west of the Bankhead Theater and in the area near the vacant parking lot north of First Street, surrounded by Livermore Avenue, Railroad Avenue and L Street. This area is commonly referred to as the Livermore Village site.
The RFP response deadline was November 18, 2015. Developers were invited to submit for a hotel, a mixed-use residential project or combined project with both components. Included in the proposal was the opportunity to include associated meeting space, a restaurant, and other amenities, and a mixed-use development with new housing and commercial uses.

The City has received a total of 14 development proposals. Of the submittals received, two are for a hotel only project, eight are for a mixed use residential/commercial only project, and four are for a combined hotel and mixed-use residential/commercial project.
City staff is currently evaluating the proposals for their responsiveness to the City’s identified RFP submittal criteria. The City Council will review the proposals through a public hearing process tentatively scheduled for January 11 and 12, 2016 to identify a preferred project.
