Livermore Rotarians Give $59,830 Back To Their Community

Rotary Club community service, Open Heart Kitchen, Reins in Motion, AXIS, CALICO, LVJUSD, CRIL, Granada High School.

Last week members of the two Rotary Clubs in Livermore awarded 10 grants to deserving non-profit organizations who’s efforts focused on youth & community service.

Over the past 28 years the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore has given back about one million dollars to the community, with this year’s recipients receiving $59,830. The recipient organizations include:

  • Open Heart Kitchen – Children’s Weekend Box Lunch Program - $5,000
  • Reins in Motion – Funding to help offset the costs of a horse trailer truck - $5,000
  • AXIS Community Health – Contributions for a new community health center - $10,000
  • CALICO – Livermore Child Abuse Intervention Project - $5,000
  • Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) – Children’s health access - $5,000
  • Community Resources for Independent Living (CRIL) – Leadership development for high school students with disabilities - $5,000
  • LVJUSD – Project Lead the Way – Gateway to Technology Program - $9,000
  • Granada High School Music Dept. – New keyboard mallet instruments - $5,000
  • LVJUSD – Elementary level GATE events - $5,330
  • Granada High School – Engineering & Computer Science Computers - $5,500
