Livermore School District Hires Sunset Principal

Terri Quesinberry comes from the Pleasanton Unified School District.

The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District is pleased to announce the selection of Terri Quesinberry as the new principal at Sunset Elementary School.

Mrs. Quesinberry has most recently served as the principal at Alisal Elementary School in Pleasanton. Mrs. Quesinberry has been in education for twenty-six years, all in Bay Area school districts. Prior to her principal position in Pleasanton, Terri had worked as a teacher, literacy coordinator, and assistant principal in the New Haven, Fremont, and Pleasanton Districts.

As the principal at Alisal, one of Mrs. Quesinberry’s greatest acomplishments was that she helped to institute a Learning Center model for special education students. She worked with the team of special education teachers to design and implement a model for improving the educational program, helping students to achieve remarkable growth in writing and math.

Mrs. Quesinberry was also a leader in curriculum and instruction in Pleasanton. She served on the District Implementation Team for Common Core, organized the Common Core Parent Education nights in English/Language Arts for parents, and was instrumental in bringing the Lucy Calkins units of study in writing to Pleasanton.

In her time away from school, Mrs. Quesinberry enjoys reading, running, browsing Pinterest, and hanging out with friends. She and her husband Pete have two children, Parker and Brooke, who are away at college. She states that she is excited to join the Livermore team and looks forward to meeting the Sunset School community.
