Livermore: Man Who Threatened OSU Football Team Arrested

LIVERMORE, CA — A man charged with threatening to shoot up Ohio State University and “seriously” harm the school's football team in 2018 was arrested in Livermore on Sunday, the East Bay Times is reporting.

Court records show Daniel Lee Rippy was arrested Dec. 29 in Livermore on suspicion of being a fugitive from justice; he faces a federal charge of threat in interstate communications in the Southern District of Ohio, the EBT reported.

Rippy allegedly sent an electronic message to OSU that read, “Your school is going to get shot the f— up and I’m seriously going to hurt the students and all the players from the football team."

Rippy is being extradited to Ohio where he will be arraigned in federal court.
