Pleasanton Woman Charged With Murder In Fatal Livermore DUI Crash, Police Say

Police said Pleasanton resident Jennifer Barbero, 42, was arrested Thursday and faces a murder charge.

LIVERMORE, CA — A Pleasanton woman arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence and causing great bodily injury following a collision that critically injured a Livermore man in May has been charged with murder by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. Police arrested Jennifer Barbero, 42, again on Thursday after a warrant for her arrest was issued Wednesday.

On May 26, David Nemeroff, 73, was standing next to his silver Mercedes, which was stopped for unknown reasons on the side of the road on southbound State Route 84/ Isabel Avenue just south of I-580, when he was allegedly struck and critically injured by a Lincoln SUV at about 10:20 a.m.

Police said the car was disabled during the crash and the driver, identified as Barbero, was with the injured man when Livermore police officers arrived on scene. The man was taken to a nearby trauma center to be treated for his injuries. Police said he succumbed to his injuries two days later.

Police said the southbound lanes of State Route 84/Isabel Avenue were closed for several hours following the collision.

Barbero was booked into the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
