Glenn Sherman, Assistant Director of Maintenance, Operations and Facilities:

Glenn Sherman was the Operations Supervisor for the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District for a number of years, and oversaw the work of the District’s Custodians and Grounds crews. Glenn moved to Livermore in 1977, attended Mendenhall Middle School and graduated from Granada High School with the class of 1982. Glenn also attended Chabot Valley Campus (Now Las Positas).

Prior to his start in the District, Glenn worked in a variety of private industry jobs, including 11 years as a roofing contractor and was also a business partner and owner in the landscaping supply industry. Glenn is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector, which allows him to provide the District with professional inspections of our playgrounds. Glenn also has a QAL License (Qualified Applicators License) for the oversight of pesticide applications for our District.

Glenn has been married to Cindy Matthews for 25 years. Cindy is also a product of Livermore Schools, a graduate of Livermore High School and has lived in Livermore her entire life. They have three children; two are Livermore High School graduates, with their youngest entering his sophomore year.

Glenn volunteers with the Livermore Police Department and also teaches Sunday school with his wife Cindy at Trinity Church. Glenn loves escaping to the Sierra Mountains backcountry where he enjoys fishing, hiking and backpacking.

Bruce Wilke, Director of Maintenance, Operations and Facilities:

Bruce Wilke has been an East Bay resident for the past 33 years. He earned his B.S. degree in Industrial Technology from San Jose State University and held manufacturing engineering and industrial engineering positions with General Electric Company and Food Machinery Corporation in San Jose.

Bruce moved into the test equipment industry by joining Teradyne in Walnut Creek where he worked as an engineering manager leading a design team in the custom products group. This is where he utilized the methods of total quality management to make many process improvements. During that time, he completed his MBA work with John F. Kennedy University.

In 2002, Bruce decided to follow his dream and move into the building construction industry. He completed a Construction Management certificate program with UC Berkeley Extension and was employed by Lathrop Construction Associates in Benicia, with whom he began building schools.

Wanting to represent the owners in the construction business, Bruce joined San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD). As a senior project manager, he oversaw the construction of many school projects, including the total transformation of California High School in San Ramon. After spending six years in San Ramon, Bruce moved over to Contra Costa Community College District where he served as a capital projects manager assigned to the Diablo Valley College campus.

Bruce was instrumental in the construction of the new student services building and the food service and culinary arts buildings in the center of that campus. SRVUSD asked Bruce to return for their new GO bond program, so he agreed to manage various construction projects there.

He is excited to join the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District as the Director of Maintenance, Operations and Facilities. Bruce and his wife Lorri raised three children who are all currently in various stages of their college educations. In his spare time, Bruce enjoys woodworking, gardening, home projects, and bicycling.
