Nutcracker Auditions to be Held at Tiffany's Dance Academy

Auditions for the annual Nutcracker performance by Tiffany's Dance Academy and Con Danza

Tiffany’s Dance Academy and ConDanza are excited to announce auditions for their annual production of Tchaikovsky’s, “The Nutcracker”. The auditions will take place at Tiffany’s Dance Academy of Livermore on August 19th and at Tiffany’s Dance Academy of South San Francisco on August 18th. Placement auditions are open to all dancers ages 5 or older.

The stunning annual production has over 400 dancers, from both Tiffany's Dance Academy and featuring performances by members of ConDanza. Professional sound, lighting, choreography, and extravagant costumes make this a favorite Nutcracker performance each year for many concert goers. Robbie Teruya, Director of the Performing Company at Tiffany’s Dance Academy, says, “What makes our Nutcracker so fun is that everyone is in a holiday spirit and that enthusiasm translates to the stage.”

ConDanza, a professional ballet company formed by master ballet teacher, César Degallado, is proud to co-host this production:

"The Nutcracker has always been a favorite of mine, not only because of the beautiful dancing and music, but because of the story. This Ballet production was created during a century when art forms came together to create this holiday tradition. Since then, this production has been presented by many of the most prestigious ballet companies in the world, and it is fundamental to their repertory."

The Nutcracker will take place December 15th and 16th, 2017, at the Theater at Chabot College located at 25555 Hesperian Way in Hayward, CA.

Tiffany Henderson, owner/director graduated from the University of Arizona, Magna cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 1998. She has performed professionally with the Arizona Jazz Dance Ensemble at the Kennedy Center, in Washington D.C. She has also performed as far away as Amsterdam, and Japan. They have also been awarded the Bay Area Parent Magazine Family Favorite award for the last five consecutive years.

ConDanza began in Stockholm, Sweden in 2005, officially moving operations to Tucson, Arizona in 2009; and now, expanding our work to the Bay Area. We have taken ConDanza on full-time to dedicate our work as an integral part of the arts community. Our mission is to advocate for the art form of dance; a community focus to educate, support and advance dance as higher education, a career choice and a professional art. In addition, we continue to build on our vision, to enrich the cultural and educational fabric of Tucson, Livermore and the community we affiliate with by establishing a semi-professional and professional level dance company where young, local dancers collaborate with professional dancers, choreographers and dance educators from around the country to share the contemporary and classical dance within our community and beyond. ConDanza consists of two branches; the Repertory Company and the Project ConDanza, our Educational Community Outreach (ECO). The ConDanza Repertory Company includes semi-professional dancers, apprentices, and trainees who are attending college and high schools. Since ConDanza has a strong commitment to community outreach, CD company dancers are required to teach and perform as community service both locally and abroad. ECO travels throughout the community teaching the importance of arts as well as the importance of higher education using the discipline of dance.
