NY Man Killed in ATV Rollover Crash Near Livermore Identified

The man, who was in the area for a family reunion during Labor Day weekend, was from Merrick, New York.

A New York man killed in a fatal rollover crash involving an all-terrain vehicle in unincorporated Santa Clara County near Livermore on Friday evening has been identified as Daniel Didden, according to the county medical examiner’s office.

Shortly before 7 p.m. Friday, Didden was riding on a Yamaha ATV on a property off of Sawtooth Canyon Road, north of San Antonio Valley and Mines roads, California Highway Patrol Officer Ross Lee said. He lost control of the ATV, was ejected and landed on the ground, Lee said.

Emergency crews pronounced the man dead at the scene, Lee said. The man was in the area for a family reunion during Labor Day weekend, Lee said.

He was from Merrick, New York, a community about 20 miles east of Queens, according to Lee.
