Yaneli Morales Confirmed As Woman Killed In Livermore

Family members are "heartbroken with the loss of Yaneli Morales, a sister, daughter, and an amazing individual who was loved by many."

LIVERMORE, CA — Officials have confirmed the identity of the 26-year-old woman who died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night in Livermore. Yaneli Morales of Livermore was hit around 8:43 p.m. while trying to cross in the 3800 block of East Avenue. A vehicle traveling westbound in the #2 lane hit the pedestrian, who was not using a crosswalk, according to Livermore Police Sgt. Steve Goard.

A GoFundMe campaign by Morales' family to raise money to pay for her memorial service had raised $19,291 as of 10 a.m. Tuesday. Morales' family members wrote on the website that they are "heartbroken with the loss of Yaneli Morales, a sister, daughter, and an amazing individual who was loved by many."

Family members said Morales "was a young beautiful women who unexpectedly passed."

Although the investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing, DUI and/or speeding are not currently considered crash factors, Goard said.
