Officials ID Victim of Fatal New Year's Day Crash on I-580
Travis Maresca of Livermore was arrested following the crash, according to CHP officials
A woman who died in a crash on Interstate Highway 580 in Oakland New Year’s Day was identified today by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau as Kayla Turner, 20, of San Jose.
The California Highway Patrol responded to reports of the crash at about 3:20 a.m. near High Street. Turner was a passenger in a Scion driven by Travis Maresca. The Scion crashed into a pole and Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP arrested Maresca on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and booked him into Santa Rita Jail. Maresca is 20 years old and a resident of Livermore.
