Passenger Killed In Livermore Thanksgiving Crash: Reports
A passenger was killed Thursday afternoon after the car they were switched lanes in an attempt to pass another car, CHP said.
LIVERMORE, CA — A person died Thanksgiving afternoon in a car crash in unincorporated Livermore, according to reports in Pleasanton Weekly and The East Bay Times. A 13-year-old survived the crash with moderate injuries, authorities said.
The collision occurred at around 12:50 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Altamont Pass and Northfront roads, CHP Officer Marc Johnston told The East Bay Times.
Officers found that a blue Honda Civic sedan and a silver Toyota Prius collided head-on after the Honda crossed solid double yellow lines into the westbound lane to try and pass another car, according to CHP Dublin Officer Tyler Hahn. The Honda crashed into the oncoming Toyota.

The passenger of the Civic died on the spot despite life-saving attempts from authorities, and the Civic’s driver sustained major injuries. Their names were not released as of Thursday.
The driver and 13-year-old passenger in the Prius sustained minor to moderate injuries and were treated in nearby hospitals, Hahn told the papers.
