• Livermore Man Accused Of Setting 2 Fires Totaling 6K Square Feet (patch.com) — Livermore police say a local man was arrested after an officer discovered two grass fires burning in a vacant field near North Murrieta Boulevard and Portola Avenue. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department quickly contained the roughly 6,000 square feet of flames, and no structures were damaged, but the suspect now faces multiple charges including arson.
   

• California awards grant to LLNL and DarmokTech to develop recyclable sodium batteries (llnl.gov) — A Livermore-based startup, DarmokTech, has secured a $2 million California Energy Commission grant with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory to develop recyclable sodium polymer batteries aimed at improving grid storage. The three-year project could strengthen California's energy reliability while building on LLNL's polymer research and potentially creating commercial opportunities tied directly to Livermore's innovation ecosystem.
   

• Livermore on the itinerary for Paula Poundstone's wide-ranging travels (livermorevine.com) — Paula Poundstone is bringing her improvisational standup to Livermore's Bankhead Theater on Saturday, Sept. 5, her last scheduled California show for a while.
