Students at Arroyo Seco Elementary filled the school yard Thursday morning for the annual egg drop, at which students get to see if their scientific methods of protecting a raw egg from being scrambled when it is dropped from the top of a building are successful.

Principal Stephan Bering dressed as the Easter Bunny and dropped a variety of egg-protecting contraptions from the roof — some proving more successful than others. Fourth-grade teacher Kim Whichard worked the ground, trying to save some eggs from their yolky fate.
