The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
LIVERMORE, CA — A small plane crashed at Livermore Municipal Airport just before noon Wednesday after attempting a take-off and then turning back.
"A single-engine Cessna 120 crashed under unknown circumstances around 11:50 a.m. after taking off from Runway 25L at Livermore Municipal Airport," according to an email from Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor.
The single-engine aircraft took off to the west, turned back, and then crashed southwest of the airstrip in a nearby field; the plane did not catch fire, according to Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Dan Moyles.
