Police Beef Patrols At LVJUSD Schools After Graffiti Threat

Graffiti at Mendenhall Middle School​ threatened campus safety, prompting added Livermore Police Department patrols at all school sites.

LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore police will remain at Mendenhall Middle School all week after threatening graffiti was found by school officials on an exterior campus wall Tuesday morning.

The graffiti "appeared to threaten the school" the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District said in a released statement.

Livermore police were called, and officers and their K-9 unit responded. As as a precaution, the campus was cleared while police investigated. A short time later, the school was deemed safe.

Classes are in session Tuesday and the graffiti was painted over.

"Although we have not received any additional threats, the Livermore Police Department will add additional patrols at all school sites throughout the day," Livermore PD said in a released statement.

Livermore police are investigating the graffiti threat and are working to identify the suspect, the LPD said.
