Prescribed Burn At Sycamore Grove Park

LIVERMORE, CA — Firefighters and academy recruits from the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department are assisting the Livermore Area Parks and Recreation Department with a vegetation management burn at Sycamore Grove Park, fire officials said.

Officials said the prescribed burn will help reduce the amount fuel in the park and will encourage growth of native plants and flowers while providing training for firefighters.

Smoke from the fire was seen throughout the Tri-Valley area on Monday and Tuesday afternoon. In Dublin, firefighters from several East Bay fire departments are conducting training at Camp Parks.

Sycamore Grove Park is located at 1051 Wetmore Rd. in Livermore.
