Professional Ballet Intensive with ConDanza and Tiffany's Dance Academy

ConDanza and Tiffany's Dance Academy are proud to host a professional ballet intensive this summer in Livermore.

Livermore, CA - We are excited to announce the ConDanza and Tiffany's Dance Academy Professional Ballet Intensive!

Our unique Intensive, designed by our own Ballet Director, Mr. Cesar Degollado, will challenge both the intermediate and advanced student, ages 12 and older. We will give our students the opportunity to improve their strength, technical ability and artistic skill in a small group environment. No class will exceed 8 students. At the same time, we hope our dancers acquire a deeper understanding and appreciation of Ballet.

Our curriculum includes classes in Technique, Pointe, Repertory, Variations and Choreography. There will also be opportunities to explore Contemporary and Jazz movement. Instructors will include both Mr. Degollado and TDA Ballet Faculty member Ms. Cassidy Stoker, along with select Guest Faculty.

According to Mr. Degollado, “Our Summer Ballet Intensive is a great program for dancers. It is a way to learn more about how our bodies can move. It is intense, rigorous and challenging because we try to go beyond dance technique. Our students learn not only dance in the classroom but performance skills that later can be used in life."

We will offer 3 sessions, and your dancer may sign up for as many as they would like. The cost for each one week session is $400 and will include over 22 hours of small group instruction. Classes will be held at the TDA Livermore studio and the dates for the sessions are:

Background:

Tiffany's Dance Academy is a dance studio founded in 2001. TDA emphasizes excellent training in Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Hip-Hop. Tiffany Henderson, owner/director graduated from the University of Arizona, Magna cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 1998. She has performed professionally with the Arizona Jazz Dance Ensemble at the Kennedy Center, in Washington D.C. She has also performed as far away as Amsterdam, and Japan. She currently performs bi-annually with Bay Area Dance Company. Her academies have been featured in Dance Informa, Dance Studio Life Magazine, Dance Teacher Magazine, The Contra Costra Times, The San Francisco Chronicle and have participated in the 2006 Disney's ABC TV Christmas Special with Ryan Seacrest. They have also been awarded the Bay Area Parent Magazine Family Favorite award for the last five consecutive years.

ConDanza began in Stockholm, Sweden in 2005, officially moving operations to Tucson, Arizona in 2009; and now, expanding our work to the Bay Area. We have taken ConDanza on full-time to dedicate our work as an integral part of the arts community. Our mission is to advocate for the art form of dance; a community focus to educate, support and advance dance as higher education, a career choice and a professional art. In addition, we continue to build on our vision, to enrich the cultural and educational fabric of Tucson, Livermore and the community we affiliate with by establishing a semi-professional and professional level dance company where young, local dancers collaborate with professional dancers, choreographers and dance educators from around the country to share the contemporary and classical dance within our community and beyond. ConDanza consists of two branches; the Repertory Company and the Project ConDanza, our Educational Community Outreach (ECO). The ConDanza Repertory Company includes semi-professional dancers, apprentices, and trainees who are attending college and high schools. Since ConDanza has a strong commitment to community outreach, CD company dancers are required to teach and perform as community service both locally and abroad. ECO travels throughout the community teaching the importance of arts as well as the importance of higher education using the discipline of dance.
