Raising the Barre to Host So You Think You Can Choreograph to Benefit Scholarship Fund

Raising the Barre is proud to host So You Think You Can Choreograph. The event will feature dancers from Tiffany’s Dance Academy, ages 11-18, as they perform student choreographed dances. Donations will be accepted at the door and there will be food and beverages available to purchase. The funds raised will benefit the Raising the Barre Scholarship Fund. So You Think You Can Choreograph will take place at Tiffany’s Dance Academy of Livermore on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 6:30 pm.

This year will be Raising the Barre’s third year presenting college scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Former member, Connie Zhou, was the first recipient in 2015 and was awarded $6,000. Zhou enrolled at Duke University in their pre-med program and is also pursuing a dance minor. Last year, three members received a total of $5,000. Karlie Teruya, one of last year’s award winners, now studies film at the University of Southern California.

Tiffany Henderson, the owner of Tiffany's Dance Academy, founded Raising the Barre in 2013. “This is such an awesome way for the kids to get together to do something challenging and positive. It brings the community to together to foster a feeling of togetherness and Raising the Barre allows our children to be a positive and vibrant influence in the lives of many people throughout the Bay Area.”
