School District Accepting Applications For Board Vacancy

The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School Board of Trustees is now accepting applications to fill the seat vacated by . The board has chosen to fill this vacancy by appointment rather than holding a costly election.

The successful appointee shall serve until December 2012, when the voters in the normal course of election cycles fill the current vacant seat. The appointee may choose to run for a full four-year term in the November 2012 election.

Applications are available online and in the Superintendent’s Office at 685 E. Jack London Blvd., Livermore, CA 94551. Requests for applications may be made by calling 925-606- 3281 or by faxing 925-606-3329.

An applicant must be 18 years or older, a citizen of the state, a resident of the School District, a registered voter, and one who is not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the State from holding a civil office.

The deadline for receipt of applications is Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at 12 noon, either online or at the Superintendent’s office (685 E Jack London Blvd., Livermore, CA 94551).
