Science and Engineering Month Underway in Livermore

The city, school district and other entities have banded together to make science and engineering a priority in Livermore.

LIVERMORE, CA - February has been declared Science and Engineering Month by the school board. The City of Livermore passed a similar resolution at the City Council meeting on January 25.

“The events and community partnerships are exciting,” says Regina Brinker, STEM Coordinator for Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD). “We’ve organized the Library, the City, the National Laboratories, Las Positas College, LARPD (Livermore Area Recreation and Parks District) and LVJUSD to make opportunities available for our students and our community.”

The major events of Science and Engineering Month include Science on Saturdays hosted by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory on each Saturday in February and Science Odyssey, which is the LVJUSD science and engineering fair.
