Tri-Valley Native Tapped For Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Chief
Jeff Peters became the department's top official Tuesday. He's served in every position at the department over his 30-year career.

PLEASANTON, CA — With three decades of fire service under his belt, Livermore native Jeff Peters has been selected as the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department's next chief.
Peters has served as interim chief over the past six months, but officially took helm of the department Tuesday. Peters began his fire service career as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Livermore in 1990 and worked his way up the ranks, serving in every position throughout his career. He stayed on with the department in 1996 when the Livermore and Pleasanton fire departments merged, according to a press release.
Peters received a bachelors degree in health science from St. Mary's College, and graduated Leadership Pleasanton, Legacy Livermore and Alameda County Leadership Academy. He is a member of the California Fire Chiefs Association, East Bay Regional Communications System Authority and Alameda County Regional Communication Center Operations Section.
