Tri-Valley Team to Play in Babe Ruth World Series in New York
The team earned a berth at the Pacific Southwest Region Tournament.
The Tri Valley Babe Ruth 13 year old All-Stars earned a trip to the Babe Ruth World Series in Jamestown, New York, August 15 – 22 by winning the Pacific Southwest Region Babe Ruth tournament Friday, July 31, at Edison High School in Fresno, California.
The resilient boys rallied to beat Hawaii in the “second” championship game, 5-1, after losing the first game, 9-10, in extra innings.

Tri-Valley earned their spot in the tournament finale by beating Torrance, CA (10-0), Hawaii (3-2), and Yuma, AZ (15-5). After falling short, 9-10, in an epic extra inning game, “the victorious dog-pile finally occurred, at 11 pm: eight hours after the baseball day began,” according to Battilega.
The player roster includes: Josh Anderson, Joey Battilega, Evan Chevalier, Beau Garrett, Tommy Gavello, Asher Golden, Jack Grant, Kyle Harrison, Max Masajlo, Peter Montini, Trevor Jackson, Michael O’Hara, Jaden Sheppard, and Cory Steinhauer.

Jack Grant earned his second most valuable player award of the summer. Joey Battilega, Beau Garrett and Asher Golden were named to the All-Tournament team
At the Babe Ruth World Series, Tri Valley will play the first game of the tournament against the New England Region representative at noon. All games can be followed using the Game Changer app, search name: Tri Valley Babe Ruth 13 YO all-stars.
