Eric Swalwell Looks To Retain Seat: Primary Election Results

EAST BAY, CA — Primary election results are coming in for the U.S. Representative, California District 15 race. Incumbent and Democrat Eric Swalwell, first elected to the seat in 2010, held a signficant lead (56 percent) over Democrat challengers Samantha Campbell (9 percent), Austin E. Intal (1 percent) and Tuan Phan (3 percent).

Campbell is a student and art teacher. Phan is a biochemist. Intal did not list his profession in documents filed with Alameda County.

Swalwell held a significant lead over Republicans Alison Hayden (19 percent) and Peter Yuan Liu (10 percent), too.

Hayden is a special education teacher and Liu did not list his profession.

Nonpartisan candidate Don J. Grundmann (chiropractor) was also in the running and secured 1 percent of votes.
