Vegetation Fire At Lawrence Livermore National Lab Burned 155 Acres
The blaze has been fully contained.
LIVERMORE, CA — Firefighters have contained a brush fire on the Lawrence Livermore National Lab property to 155 acres Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said. The blaze was reported in the area of 806 Route 3 just before 2 p.m., according to the Pulsepoint phone application. The Caliofrnia Highway Patrol temporarily closed closed a segment of Corral Hollow Road.
The blaze occurred in a ravine off Corral Hollow Road near the Carnegie Vehicular Recreation Area, said Linda Seaver, a spokeswoman for the laboratory.
"We did have some employees who sheltered in place as a precaution, but there was never any threat to the public," Seaver said.

The fire was first reported at just four acres, but it quickly grew to 40 acres. It eventually grew to somewhere between 100 and 150 acres, according to Seaver. Firefighters are in the final stages of putting the fire out, and
they're not expecting it to grow any more, Seaver said. There were no reports of injuries or structures threatened by the blaze.
"That area is pretty much grassland, so the likelihood is that there will be no structures threatened," Seaver said.
