Writers Club Offers $500 Scholarship to Las Positas College Students
The Tri-Valley Writers Club is offering one $500 scholarship for use at Las Positas College, Livermore, during the the 2017-18 school year.

LIVERMORE, CALIF.: The Tri-Valley Writers Club (TVW) is offering one $500 scholarship for use at Las Positas College, Livermore, during the 2017-2018 academic year. Students studying English, Journalism and related subjects may apply for the grant.
"Part of our mission is to promote writing through education," TVW President Patricia Boyle said. "We have been supporting Las Positas College in various ways over the years, and we'd like to strengthen our relationship through this scholarship."

TVW also invites writers of all genres and experience levels to learn about their craft at its monthly meetings. Meetings take place September through June on the third Saturday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. with check-in at 1:30 p.m. The Tri-Valley Writers Club is a branch of the California Writers Club (CWC).

Regular meeting cost for CWC members is $12, and for non-members, $17. The meetings are held at the Four Points by Sheraton, 5115 Hopyard Rd., Pleasanton. Anyone interested in the meetings or CWC may attend with no obligation to join. Reservations can be made by sending a message via e-mail to reservations@trivalleywriters.org no later than the Wednesday prior to the meeting.
The Tri-Valley Writers will hold an all-day writers' conference on April 22 this year in place of its regular meeting. Successful authors, marketing experts, an agent, an editor and electronic publishing innovators will conduct workshops on the craft of writing and the business of publishing.
