
Dwayne Jackson Jr. of Carson, CA was murdered on October 18, 2001. Dwayne was born March 27, 1987 as a twin, he has a twin sister. Dwayne loved to skate and he participated in sports like basketball and football starting at the age of 7 years old. He often spoke about becoming a professional football player. He loved fashion and always had to be different from the dyeing of his hair to one shoe being a different color from the other.
He was voted the “Cutest” and “Funniest” at Colin Powell Middle School. He could only be chosen for one so he went with “Cutest”. He brought great laughter to the family with jokes. His mother Jackie Jackson said, “I was the happiest mother ever finding out that I was having twins. I went from not able to have any children to twins. This has shattered my world.”
Dwayne had just begun high school 2 weeks prior to being murdered. He was loved by so many students even the seniors. He was so excited about beginning High School.
On October 18, 2001, Dwayne was out riding his bicycle with family & friends. Shortly after 5:30, a car described as a 1980 Chevrolet Caprice, four-door sedan with a taxi cab sign attached to the top approached the group in front of 1473 E. Fernrock St, Carson, CA, Dwayne thought they were looking for directions but couldn’t hear what was being said so he moved closer to the vehicle. The passenger in the back seat shot Dwayne in the chest with a shot gun. The driver was described as a black male, about 17-20 years old at the time, bald and wearing dark clothing. The back seat passenger was described as a dark complexion male with corn rows, also was believed to range in age from 17 to 20 years old.
His mother’s life has not been the same. She tries to keep in touch with detectives but believes she is wasting her time calling because this case will never get solved lack of evidence.
Someone knows who killed Dwayne. It’s time to give this family peace and get this killer of the streets. The city of Carson offered a $10,000 reward but no one has come forward with information to claim the reward. We hope someone will come forward with the missing piece of the puzzle.
