3 Women Shot In Long Beach, Gunman At Large

LONG BEACH, CA — Three women were shot in Long Beach late Sunday night, leaving one critically injured, with the gunman still at large Monday, police confirmed to Patch.

Long Beach police officers responded at about 11:23 p.m. Sunday to the 100 block of Pacific Coast Highway following a report of a shooting with multiple victims, the Long Beach Police Department said.

A preliminary investigation determined that three adult women suffered gunshot wounds, police said.

Two of the women suffered non-life-threatening injuries to their lower bodies, while the third was shot in the torso and remained in critical condition, according to LBPD.

All three women were taken by the Long Beach Fire Department to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence. Authorities have not released further information about what may have led to the gunfire.

LBPD confirmed to Patch Monday that the gunman remained at large. No suspect description was immediately available and the investigation is ongoing.
