A Quick Morning Stroll

This morning the course for the 40th Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach was opened up to everyone.

Mayor Bob Foster dropped the green flag today (and was not run over) to over 100 attendees. They came on foot, bicycles, electric bicycles, roller blades, pushing their toddlers in strollers, and pulling them in bicycle trailers. And let's not forget about our four-legged friends which were also along for the ride.

Some had a political message, others were just enjoying a Spring Break morning off. All in all, everyone had a great time doing as many laps as they could in the ninety minutes the course was open to them.

After that, the course was again closed so VIP's and media could take advantage of a Pace Car ride in a 'not your mom's Camry', and others were treated to a ride in an actual Formula Drift car. Being too tall for the Formula Drift, I opted for the Camry.

WHAT A RIDE!
