LONG BEACH, CA — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by three vehicles whose drivers all fled the scene in Long Beach on Monday, according to police.
Officers responded at about 11:44 p.m. Monday to Ocean Boulevard near Golden Avenue after receiving a report of a hit-and-run collision, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police found an adult man lying in the roadway. Long Beach Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators believe an unidentified black vehicle was traveling east in the No. 2 lane of Ocean Boulevard when it struck the man as he crossed north outside a crosswalk.
The driver continued east on Ocean Boulevard without stopping, police said.
The pedestrian was then struck by a white truck and a red sedan. Neither driver remained at the scene, according to police.
The man’s identity was withheld pending identification and notification of his family by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
