Arrest Made In Killing Of Long Beach Man Found Dead With Suspicious Injuries (patch.com) β Long Beach police have arrested 30-year-old Unrico Sims on suspicion of murdering 33-year-old resident Kenneth Shannon, whose body was found with suspicious injuries on Muriel Avenue earlier this month. Detectives now say Shannon died in a Sept. 2 shooting near where he was discovered, and the case has been sent to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office while investigators continue seeking a motive and additional information from the public.

Long Beach's 8-mile stretch of PCH is getting new automated speed cameras β here's when tickets could begin (secretlosangeles.com) β Drivers in Long Beach should prepare for two new automated speed cameras coming to Pacific Coast Highway starting in 2027, thanks to a new state law. These will join the city's broader speed-camera pilot, issuing warnings first and then fines for going 11 mph or more over the limit, in an effort to curb crashes on one of Long Beach's most dangerous corridors.
