Chapter 7: It Has To Be Said

You're a Super-Villain. By definition an untrustworthy, megalomaniacal, psycho/sociopath. Am I concerned that if my advice serves to displease you in any way, I could come to harm? Yes. Have I taken precautions for that possibility? Yes again. Now that we've addressed the elephant in the room, I appreciate you coming with me this far. I feel we've established the beginnings of a healthy working relationship and there is a real opportunity that we can build a level of trust we're both comfortable with. I have been and will continue to be completely honest with you.  

Now I admit the above definition hardly covers the vast number of subtle differences among your legion. But the reason I paint my advice with such broad strokes is because most of you tend to have the same blind spots such as:

Ego - This is every man's blind spot really. Except your day job magnifies it in multiples of hundreds. I mean it takes a cocky SOB to think he can rule a town/state/country/world/universe. While this is necessary to be on top of your game, if left unchecked your dating pool will be the size of a shot glass. Your ego goes up to 11. It needs to be around a 5 or 6 when talking to regular people but especially a first date.

Anger Issues - These are never attractive. I feel comfortable in saying that coming to grips with these could end up making you a more effective Super-Villain. I know dealing with my own, I became a more efficient (slept better, ate better, exercised, all that crap) human being and generally more pleasant to be around. It could probably do the same for you except, you know, evil.

Dishonesty - You lie like a rug. You pretty much have to, to keep your identity secret and from going to jail. And if you're any kind of successful at Super-Villainy, you've gotten good at it. Not judging, comes with the territory I know. But it's going to be a huge issue when she learns you've been lying and the hardest thing to overcome and forgive you for. This flaw of yours starts you two steps back before you ever take your first one forward.

If we can work together and find a way to bring these elements to levels compatible with regular people, your dating pool should grow enough to accommodate some swimmers. How many depends on how well you address these three things.
