Chapter 9: Reading Her Mind

WARNING: IF YOU ARE ACTUALLY TELEPATHIC, THIS APPLIES DOUBLE FOR YOU. DON'T DO IT. DON'T GO THERE. NO GOOD CAN COME OF THIS.

So what I'm saying here is, don't try. To paraphrase Douglas Adams; if anyone were to actually figure out the mystery that is the human female, women would instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more inexplicable. None of us want that.

This is not to say you can't try to anticipate her wants or needs, I mean duh, if she looks thirsty give her a drink. But trying to divine the motivation that drives women to make the choices they make is a fools game. Women might as well be a different species when looking at how their brain works.

So what I suggest instead is careful observation and considerate action. Pay attention. Absorb all the information you can. Then act upon this knowledge in exactly the opposite way your brain always tells you. In other words, no spying, no stalking, no awkward meeting in parking garages.

Instead try to be thoughtful, considerate and empathetic. Google these things if you're not sure how to pull them off. They will be very important in your dating quest. To conclude, the mind of a woman is literally indecipherable and the male of the species should never attempt to read one. There's probably a sound biological principle behind that but I'm not going to dig too deep to find it.

Because I'm deathly afraid Douglas Adams might be right.
