Detectives Dig Up Human Remains In Long Beach
The remains possibly belong to a 32-year-old man reported missing in October 2017, according to detectives.

LONG BEACH, CA – Human remains that possibly belong to a 32-year-old man reported missing in October 2017 were found following an excavation Thursday on the property of a Long Beach home, detectives said. Police received a missing person's report for Zach Kennedy in October 2017, according to Detective Scott Lasch of the Long Beach Police Department.
"Through relentless follow up in Kennedy's disappearance, detectives learned that he was last seen at a residence in the 500 block of West Eighth Street, and was possibly buried on the property," Lasch said.
Detectives began an excavation of the property Thursday and located what they believed to be the remains of a human body, he said.

A representative from the coroner's office took possession of the remains and will determine a cause of death as well as identification, he said.
