Dog Reunited With Owners After Daring Dip In Ocean In Long Beach

The brave little dog that took a swim in the ocean this weekend was reunited with its owners just a day later, authorities said.

LONG BEACH, CA — A brave little dog that swam out to sea this weekend in Long Beach was reunited with its owner, the Long Beach Fire Department announced Sunday night.

Long Beach Lifeguards got the call about the pooch running loose in the Junipero Lot by the beach at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and when they arrived to take a look they found the pet dog paddling in the waves.

"LifeGuard 7 put on his Wetsuit, grabbed his rescue board and bouy, and headed out to rescue the small white lap dog," the LBFD said in a statement on Facebook.

Thankfully, the dog made it out to the swim line where the rescue boat and the lifeguard were able to bring it safely back to the shore.
