The USGS has reported three earthquakes centered in East La Habra near Harbor Boulevard and Imperial Highway this evening.
The first tremor was a magnitude 3.6 at 8:03pm PST, followed by the large jolt originally reported at magnitude 5.6 but now downgraded to a magnitude 5.1 at 9:09pm PST. A third tremor of magnitude 3.4 was also reported at 9:22pm PST. All three were within just a few blocks of each other according to the USGS real time map.
The quake felt here in Long Beach was a large jolt and jerk, followed by what felt like some rolling motion for about a 90 seconds. There appears to be no damage or disruption of utility services in the Downtown area, however Long Beach Fire and Police Departments are responding to calls and further updates will be made available as they come in.
