In celebration of Earth Day, Green Education Inc., in collaboration with Leadership Long Beach, and Green Long Beach! are kicking off the first annual Green Prize Festival on Saturday, April 26, 2014.
The Green Prize Festival is a one-day event highlighting urban farmers, green chefs, live entertainment, artists, green technology, sustainable transportation, environmental organizations as well as education through workshops, demonstrations and guest speakers. The event will also feature the Localism FREE bike valet, the Kress Market & Deli Beer Garden of Earthly Delights, green vendors and food trucks as well as children’s activities. We're also pleased to introduce the Green Prize annual award program!
With less than a day to go, Barbie Sommars is still putting in last minute additions and giveaways for this event. Their bike valet sponsor, Localism has commissioned Artist David Van Patten to create a collector's deck of limited edition spoke cards if you RIDE YOUR BIKE. Only one per person, so get there early. TAKE THE PLEDGE to come CAR-FREE and Care-Free and RSVP for the Bike valet: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/green-prize-festival-tickets-10969812003
SPECIAL OFFER: Go Metro Los Angeles and Save $1 on your Farm to Fork lunch at The Ladyfarmer by Savory Sweet Eclectic and get a free ride on Our Town Trolley, from the 1st Street Station to the Festival, compliments of Localism!
The beer gardens have been growing, and are almost ready for tomorrow's harvest. Food trucks from Roe Restaurant & Fish Market Food Truck, Canvas Food Truck & Catering, and Y2 Eggs on the Run will be there to make you in case you do not make the 'Farm To Fork' selections by The Lady Farmer by Savory Sweet Eclectic. They will go quickly!
Visit the villages of green-dom, take in the entertainment on the Long Beach Independent Stage, bring an old pair of jeans to fix, bring your refillable coffee mug for free coffee, or just stroll through to learn more about how you can re or up cycle with little to no effort and do your part to GO GREEN.
