Human Remains Found In Long Beach Belong To Missing Man
Police identified the remains as those of a 32-year-old Long Beach man who went missing in October 2017.

LONG BEACH, CA – The human remains found buried outside a Long Beach home last week have been identified as those of a man who went missing in October, authorities announced Wednesday. The remains discovered Thursday in the 500 block of West Eighth Street were those of 32-year-old Zach Kennedy of Long Beach, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, and no arrests have been made, according to police. Authorities said they received a missing-persons report about Kennedy in October 2017.
"Through relentless follow-up in Kennedy's disappearance, detectives learned that he was last seen at a residence in the 500 block of West Eighth Street, and was possibly buried on the property," police said.

"On May 3 ... detectives in possession of a search warrant began an excavation of the property on West Eighth Street, in the hope of finding Kennedy," police said. "Not long after detectives began the excavation, they located what they (believed) to be the remains of a human body buried on the property."
