It’s Chile in August at Hotel Maya, Fuego’s Latin American Brunch Stops On August 20

It’s Chile in August as the 12-country Latin American 2017 tour stops on Sunday, August 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fuego’s authentic Chilean dishes will be accentuated by live Latin music with The Sounds of Chile. Free Latin dance demonstrations will also be offered during brunch.

Fuego guests looking for an extended Chile experience will also enjoy the daily offerings of Chilean specialties such as “Hojas de Sea Bass Ceviche” with fried plantains and “Grilled Beef Skewers” with grilled rib eye, tomato, sweet onion, smoked chimichurri sauce and cilantro rice. The featured Chilean dessert is “Milk Flan” with caramelized milk flan, fresh berries and cream. The Chilean drink of the month is a refreshing “Pisco Sour” with pisco, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, fresh egg white and bitters.

Fuego, the modern, Latin infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge, offers a unique seaside setting featuring 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating inside and on the patio area. Fuego’s stunning open-air views include the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach skyline and Queen Mary.

“It’s Chile in August as Fuego heats up with delicious daily Chilean specials and drinks all leading up to the Latin Brunch stop on Sunday, August 20,” said Kristi Allen, Vice President of Hotel Operations at Hotel Maya – a Doubletree by Hilton. “Guests will also enjoy live music with the Sounds of Chile along with complimentary Latin dance lessons at the water’s edge.”

The Latin American Brunch series continues to Venezuela on September 17, Guatemala on October 29, Peru on November 19, and Nicaragua on December 17. The Latin American Brunch series’ first seven stops were Cuba in January, Argentina in February, Costa Rica in March, Colombia in April, Mexico in May, El Salvador in June and Brazil in July.

For August, Executive Chef Juarez has prepared a culinary tour stop in Chile that begins with sensational Salads featuring Chilean Salpicon, Ensalada Russa aka Beet and Potato salad, Hearts of Palm salad, Ensalada Chilena, Sweet Potato salad, Avocado and Shrimp salad; along with Antipasto, Smoked Salmon, and Domestic and Imported Cheeses.

Fuego’s Empanadas and Humitas include Cheese and Beef Empanadas, Corn Humitas, chimichurri, pebre sauce, and cotija cheese.

Fuego Ceviches include Hojas de Sea Bass, Citrus Salmon and Shrimp Ceviche.

Chilean Brunch entrees are ordered from the server and offer a choice of Fuego Eggs Benedict with two poached eggs, sautéed spinach, Applewood smoked bacon, English muffins, Hollandaise sauce and oven-roasted tomato; Tortilla Chileana aka Latin Omelet with shredded potatoes, eggs, onion, carrots, sun-dried tomatoes, aged goat cheese and plain yogurt; Bistec Chileno and Fried Egg with New York steak, caramelized onion, fried potatoes, and ensalada Chilena; Grilled Beef Skewers with grilled rib eye, tomato, sweet onion, smoked chimichurri sauce and cilantro rice; Arollado de Chancho with roasted pork, aji pepper garlic sauce and steak fried potatoes; Pollo Arevejado with braised bone-in chicken, onions, carrots, peas, herbed tomato broth, and steamed Jasmine rice; Chilean Sea Bass with baked fillet of sea bass, citrus mojo, avocado, steamed yucca and organic micro green salad; or Grilled Maine Lobster with a 12-ounce lobster tail, pebre salsa and Chilean salad - for an additional $10.

A variety of Chilean desserts include an assortment of mini pastries, cinnamon cream cheese roll ups, tres leches cake, mil hojas layered cake, leche asada, milk flan, lemon pound cake, meringue cookies; along with a selection of Latin pastries, and pineapple and coconut tarts.

The Latin American Brunch Series – Chile costs $55.00 per adult and children, 13 and older; $27.50 for children, 12 and under; kids 5 and under feast for free; plus tax and gratuity. For an additional $10, guests will enjoy endless sparkling wine or mimosas. Complimentary glass of sparkling wine or cider, coffee, decaffeinated coffee, tea, juice or soft drinks will be served.
