It's Girl Scout Cookie Season!

Order forms have been circulating since January in many offices by moms and dads of Girl Scouts, and now this week begins the annual sales of Girl Scout Cookies at booths located throughout Long Beach. and Southern California.

And this last weekend, Southern California had its first Cookie Grinch in Escondido, as reported by NBC Channel 7 in San Diego. A 19-22 year old male suspect stole about $45 then jumped into a black Acura with California license plate 2KCB407 and drove away.

The mother of Girl Scouts Zoe and Gracie Fullerton, Erin Fullerton chased after him and tried to grab the money as he jumped inside the car. Another driver tried to block the Acura's path, but they were able to back up and get away.

Girl Scouts, their leaders, parents, friends and relatives work very hard each year ordering, distributing and selling cookies to fund most of their activities for the entire year. And to hear about someone which laughs the entire time to take away from their effort is at the very least aggravating.

But these and other Girl Scouts are not deterred by this, as it does happen from time to time. It does hurt, but they quickly learn to persevere and keep going. Though it is unfortunate that this is one of the life lessons which will be learned. And it does make the rest of us smile a little more as we walk up to fill our bag with one or two boxes more than we planned on buying.

To see when and where sales booths are in your neighborhood, check the official Cookie Finder on their site at Cookie Finder or download the new app to your mobile.
