Long Beach Police Investigate Man's Death

The 58-year-old was apparently hurt in a fight and received a traumatic wound to the upper torso, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA – Long Beach police sought public help Monday to solve the killing of a 58-year-old man who may have been stabbed during a fight. Kelly Miller died about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Pine Avenue, according to the coroner's office.

Officers were sent to the scene on a report of a possible stabbing, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

"Officers' initial investigation found the victim was involved in a physical altercation and received a traumatic wound to the upper torso, but the cause of that injury is still to be determined," a police statement said.

An autopsy was pending to determine the cause of Miller's death. No arrests have been reported, and no suspect information was available.
