Los Altos Neighborhood Library To Close For HVAC Replacement Prep

LONG BEACH, CA — The Los Altos Neighborhood Library is set to close for almost four weeks for scheduled maintenance to prepare the facility for a heating, ventilation and air conditioning replacement project anticipated to begin later this summer.

The closure is scheduled to start on Thursday, June 15 and is scheduled to reopen on July 5, Long Beach officials said. While the library is temporarily closed, outdoor book returns and donation drop-off bins for the city's homeless donation drive will not be available for use.

Digital resources such as the Library catalog, downloads and databases will remain running and are available 24/7, officials said.

In 2021, the Alamitos Neighborhood Library underwent a similar HVAC replacement project, and city officials said this kind of project allows for optimal indoor air quality, ventilation and temperature regulation.
