
LONG BEACH, CA — A man was taken into custody for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Long Beach, authorities said Sunday.
Officers were dispatched at 5:47 p.m. Saturday to the 300 block of Cherry Avenue regarding a sexual assault, according to Sgt. Laurie Barajas of the Long Beach Police Department.
"The initial investigation revealed an adult female victim reported she had been sexually assaulted. A male adult suspect was taken in custody," Barajas said. "Sex Crimes detectives responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing."
