Man Hit And Killed By Vehicle In Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CA -- Long Beach police Saturday investigated what may have been the intentional hit-and-run death of a man, authorities said. The pedestrian was struck at about 9:40 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue, Long Beach police Det. Jennifer Arzola said.
The driver fled the scene.
Paramedics took the victim to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Arzola said.

"Due to suspicious circumstances, LBPD homicide detectives responded to the scene," she said. "This is being investigated as an intentional act."
The motive was unknown, Arzola said.
