Man Shot, Attacker Flees Scene In Long Beach: Police

The case is under investigation, according to police.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man was shot in the upper body Sunday night in Long Beach, according to police.

Officers responded around 9:45 p.m. to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the area of East Artesia Boulevard at the Los Angeles River, police said. They arrived to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening, according to police.

The shooter fled the scene before officers arrived, police said, and the victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition. The case is under investigation, according to police.
