1 Gravely Injured in Long Beach Shooting

The victim remains in the hospital in stable condition while recovering from multiple gunshot wounds sustained in the Monday night shooting.

LONG BEACH, CA — A shooting in Long Beach Monday night hospitalized one man with life-threatening wounds, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Officers arrived at the 1400 block of Chestnut Avenue at 8:29 p.m. and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds in both his upper and lower body, officers said. Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital to treat his injuries, where he remains in stable condition according to officials.

Detectives further investigated the incident and found that the victim was speaking to a woman he knew when they were approached by another unknown man. Investigators said the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the man before fleeing the scene before officers arrived.
