Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra is kicking off the new year with concerts that highlight the magnificence of the baroque period of music.

Their free concert series in conjunction with the Long Beach Public Library, and funding from the Port of Long Beach, continues at 11 a.m., January 20 at the Los Altos Neighborhood Library’s Community Room (5614 E Britton Dr, Long Beach, CA 90815). Early Musica America calls Canadian-born Haynes-Pilon as “a special artist with a brilliant future.” She has quickly established herself in the early music scene, performing on baroque cello, viola de gamba, baroque bassoon, and dulcian. She is the principal cellist of Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra and Opera Neo, and is the co-director and cellist/gambist of Musica Pacifica.

The free community concerts are open to all ages and include ticket discounts and give aways, and a question-and-answer period after the performances.
