Mysterious Tar Balls Shut Down Long Beach Shores

The same tar balls that have washed ashore in Malibu and the South Bay are now showing up in Long Beach.

Beaches in Long Beach from 1st Place to 72nd Place have been closed after various amounts of tar balls have washed ashore, creating a public and environmental health concerns, according to Long Beach Fire Department Public Information Officer Jake Heflin.
